FLAGON DRY GETS HIS HEAD IN FRONT AT SOUTHWELL
FLAGON DRY put his experience to good use to WIN the EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes over 1 mile at Southwell on Thursday night under a strong drive from Eddy Greatrex.
Unlucky not to win on his previous run, where he overcame a bad draw to finish a very close second, this time Flagon Dry righted that wrong. He and Eddy jumped well out of the stalls and travelled very comfortably throughout the race, before hitting the front inside the final furlong and staying on strongest to win by a head.
This son of Invincible Army is our 5th individual 2-year-old winner this season, which is brilliant for Warren, the team and of course owners Jim and Claire Bryce. Flagon Dry will likely have his winter break now, and will make up into a nice middle-distance 3-year-old in the New Year, with the possibility of maybe going Juvenile Hurdling later in the season.
