HERAKLES WESTWOOD AND MARGARET’S LEGACY KEEP THE WINS COMING IN!
HERAKLES WESTWOOD WINS AT WINDSOR
After his decisive victory at Newbury last time out, HERAKLES WESTWOOD headed to Windsor last Friday to run in the Fitzdares Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase over 3 miles.
Ridden again by James Bowen, the pair went off as favourites and they did not let their backers down! Travelling strongly throughout the race and jumping with accuracy and precision, Herakles Westwood came to lead 2 fences from home and stayed on really strongly to win comfortably by 3 and a half lengths. It is safe to say that Herakles Westwood has found his forte going over fences, and staying Chases definitely bring out the best in him!
Congratulations to owners the Herakles Westwood AC Syndicate, who have owned this horse since he was a 3-year-old store horse and have played the long-game to allow him to strengthen and develop both mentally and physically over the years. His owners and Warren can now reap the rewards of their patience and dedication, and they are sure to have plenty more good days with Herakles Westwood!
MARGARET’S LEGACY WINS AT HAYDOCK
We didn’t have to wait long for our next winner, with MARGARET’S LEGACY heading to Haydock on Saturday after his impressive win on yard debut at Southwell in December.
Since his first win, Margaret’s Legacy’s confidence seems to have soared, and he was working really well at home on the run-up to Haydock making Warren confident of another big run, this time in the Sky Bet Handicap Chase over 2m 4f.
Partnered again by Harry Bannister, the pair travelled really strongly throughout the race and jumped with great gusto, taking up the lead 4 fences from home and only facing a brief challenge 3 fences from home before bounding home to WIN by 2 and three quarter lengths.
It is so pleasing to see this horse grow in confidence and go from strength-to-strength since joining the yard in Summer, and we are really grateful to owners The Old Romantics for choosing to send Margaret’s Legacy to us. We haven’t seen the best of this horse yet, and there are surely plenty more good days to be enjoyed with him yet!
As always, thank you to my very hard-working team at home who make all these good days possible!
