KOAPEY AND LIAM MERA KAI MAKE IT AN ACROSS THE CARD DOUBLE!

KOAPEY WINS AT SOUTHWELL

KOAPEY was the well-deserved winner of the Grace & Dotty Maiden Hurdle over 2 miles at Southwell last Thursday, and he won in very convincing fashion!

Having finished second in all 3 of his career starts previously, it was brilliant to see this lovely son of Manatee get a win under his belt. Ridden by Sean Bowen, the pair raced sat handily throughout the race, travelling strongly and jumping with great fluency, taking up the lead 3 hurdles from home and striding clear readily to win comfortably by 2 and three-quarter lengths.

This will be a great confidence boost for Koapey, who is a huge frame of a horse and is only going to strengthen and improve for another summer under his belt. He is really nice horse for the future and is an exciting chaser-in-the making for his owner Mr Scott Turner.

Well done to all the team at home- it is no mean feat to keep the horses in such good form all season, and with a huge number of placed horses most recently, it was brilliant to finally get a winner!

LIAM MERA KAI WINS AT WARWICK

As the saying goes- you wait ages for a bus and then two come along at once!

Only an hour after Koapey won at Southwell, LIAM MERA KAI made a WINNING racecourse debut at Warwick!

Liam Mera Kai has always looked a smart prospect at home, and we really fancied his chances in the Racing TV Newcomers National Hunt Flat Race over 2 miles where he was to be ridden by James Bowen. The pair did not disappoint, and Liam Mera Kai impressed with his professionalism throughout the race, where he travelled strongly before taking up the lead with over a furlong to go and running on to win by 2 and a half lengths.

This is the perfect start for new owners to the yard Mr Jerry Hinds & Mr Ashley Head, who are sure to have plenty of fun with this tenacious son of Bande in the years to come.
