YANKEE DUDE RETURNS TO THE WINNERS ENCLOSURE

YANKEE DUDE WINS AT SOUTHWELL

YANKEE DUDE made his well-deserved way back to the Winners Enclosure last Monday at Southwell when he lined up in the bettingsites.co.uk Handicap (Class 4) (0-85) over 1 mile under his usual jockey Eddy Greatrex.

Having shown himself to be a very smart 2-year-old and a horse to look forward to, Yankee Dude had some niggling issues as a 3-year-old which stopped him from achieving the promise he had shown in his early career. With these issues now resolved, and a complicated gelding operation carried out, Yankee Dude has returned to the track as a 4-year-old showing his old promise.

Last Monday Yankee Dude looked a picture in the parade ring and was full of pzazz on the way down to the start. During the race, he and Eddy took up a prominent position and travelled strongly, challenging the leaders a furlong out and staying on really nicely to come home a length and a quarter ahead of the rest of the field.

Yankee Dude should gain loads of confidence from this performance and should have a really good winter campaign on the all-weather.

Well done to owner Claire Stamper Ltd who enjoyed her first winner in her colours!
