A FLAT AND A CHASE WINNER AT SOUTHWELL

TOO FARHH GONE WINS

TOO FARHH GONE got off the mark on her first run of the season at Southwell at the end of April. This 4-year-old daughter of Farhh is very lightly raced, having only had 2 starts for us as a 3-year-old, but where she showed plenty of promise in her races.

With the winter under her belt, she had strengthened up nicely and we sent her to Southwell to run in the Restricted Novice Stakes over 1m 3f with high hopes of another solid run. Partnered by Eddy Greatrex,  Too Farhh Gone bounced out of the stalls and made all throughout the race, staying on really strongly all the way to the line to win by three-quarters of a length.

This was a really lovely performance from a mare who is still learning her job, and a great basis for her to start this year’s campaign with. There will be plenty for owners FB Racing Club to look forward to with Too Farhh Gone, who is only just getting started!

TOM DESJY WINS

TOM DESJY headed to Southwell yesterday to line up in the Handicap Chase over 3 miles yesterday, ridden by Sean Bowen, who was determined to right the wrong of being unseated by Tom Desjy only 9 days previously following a very bad mistake 4 fences from home at Uttoxeter. Sean felt that day that he was only just coming into the race when the blundered occurred, and was adamant Tom Desjy would have run a really big race.

None the worse for their previous race, the pair made all this time, and the jumping was much improved, allowing the partnership to keep the lead throughout the race and fending off a brief challenge 2 fences from home, before skipping clear of the rest of his rivals to win by an impressive 21 lengths! It was great to see Sean’s faith in this horse repaid, and for Tom Desjy get his head in front. He has gone from strength-to-strength since switching to fences, and there will be plenty of fun to be had with him for owners Velocity Racing NH.
